The Best Strawberry Sangria for Summer!

I love strawberry sangria. It’s the perfect summer drink to enjoy on a patio under the sun! I want to learn how to make more fun cocktails and this was the perfect recipe to try out first. I found the recipe on Pinterest, and you can see the original here!

There are only 7 ingredients in this sangria, which makes it cheap and easy to prepare! I did double the recipe but I forgot to double the simple syrup, so mine didn’t taste as sweet as it probably should have but I actually prefer that. It was refreshing and fruity, and I’m definitely going to be making it all summer!

Strawberry Sangria Ingredients

Like I mentioned earlier, the best part of this recipe is that there aren’t too many ingredients! You get to make your own strawberry simple syrup, which I had never done before but was really easy to make. For the wine, you can choose whatever white wine you prefer (Moscato, Reisling, etc.) but I went with Pinot Grigio.

Ingredients for the Simple Syrup:

  • 3 cups of sliced strawberries
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of sugar

Ingredients for the Sangria:

  • 1 bottle white wine, your choice
  • Strawberry simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup club soda
  • 1 orange
  • Strawberries, sliced (up to you how many you want to put in for decoration)
  • Mint leaves

Instructions

  1. First, you need to make the strawberry simple syrup. All you need to do is combine the strawberries, water and sugar in a pot and bring it to a boil. Let it boil for 5 minutes before turning the heat down and letting it simmer for another 10 minutes.

2. Once your syrup is done boiling, you want to transfer it into a glass bowl. In order to do so, you’ll need to place a strainer on top of your bowl to catch the chunks of strawberries. Make sure to squish the strawberries in order to get as much liquid as possible! Once you’re done, place the simple syrup in your fridge to let it cool. I waited about an hour before using it my sangria.

3. Now you’re ready to prepare! Simply add the wine, club soda, simple syrup, orange slices, strawberry slices and mint leaves into a pitcher and stir. Serve and enjoy!
