5 High-End Makeup Products I Can’t Live Without!

I used to always use high-end makeup products in my everyday makeup routine. Which, as you can imagine, is not the best thing for my bank account. Recently I’ve been trying to save more money, so I’ve been trying to find drugstore dupes for my favourite high-end products. While there are a tone of great alternatives out there, there are still a few things I just can’t part with. Here are 5 high-end makeup products I still use in my every day routine:

1. Fenty Match Stix Contour Stick

High end makeup products

Fenty has been my favourite makeup brand since it started- not only because I LOVE Rihanna, but because their products are amazing. I started using their Match Stix Contour Stix ($42.00) a couple of months ago and now I can’t live without it. I use the lightest shade, Amber, which is just cool-toned enough to be an excellent contour. I personally haven’t found ANY drugstore contour sticks in Canada (if you have any suggestions let me know) but I would probably still use the Fenty Match Stix because it really is that good.

2. ABH

I’ve been using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer ($33.00) for YEARS and I will never go back. I have a hard time getting my brows to look even remotely related, nevermind making them look like twins, but the way this pencil is designed makes it a LOT easier. I use the spooley end to brush through my brows first, then I fill them in with the pencil and go over the front ends again with the spooley. Any drugstore brow pencil I’ve used is either too soft, making my brows look way too drawn on because so much product comes off the pencil, or they’re too hard, making it difficult to even fill in your brows. The ABH brow definer is the perfect middle, so it’s a staple in my makeup bag.

3. Benefit Hoola Bronzer

The next high-end makeup product I use every day is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer ($47.00). I got my first Hoola bronzer years ago when I was first starting out with putting on makeup, and honestly at the time I didn’t appreciate how great it is. Now, after trying a ton of different bronzers, I will always repurchase this one. It does an excellent job of warming up your face without being too orange or too brown, and blends in with my fake tan SO well. It is a little expensive for a bronzer, but it lasts FOREVER so it’s definitely worth it.

4. Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Liner

There was a lot of hype surrounding the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Liner ($32.00) for a really long time, and for good reason. I’m always wary of purchasing lipsticks and liners from Sephora because I’m very picky with the colours I wear on my lips- and what looks good on one person does not always look good on another. But I had heard so many good things about the Pillowtalk liner & lipstick that I needed to try it out at least once… and now I’m hooked. I only buy the liner because I found a great Covergirl lipstick that pairs with it (blog post about my favourite drugstore products is coming in the near future!!) but the liner lasts all day long and compliments my skin perfectly. I’m almost 3/4 of the way through my first pencil and I will definitely be repurchasing!

5. Fenty Pro Filt’r Setting Powder

This Fenty Pro Filt’r Setting Powder ($47.00) is AMAZING. I always find that setting powders seem to sit on top of my skin and look cakey, but not this one. It melts into my pores, giving the perfect finish to my foundation routine and really gives that filter effect. Again, you could find drugstore setting powders for a lot cheaper but I haven’t found one that works as amazingly as this one. The Pro Filt’r even gives a lot of other high-end powders a run for their money! Another product I really can’t live without.
