15 Travel Gifts for the Adventurer in Your Life

I always struggle to think of cool, useful gifts for my friends and family for Christmas and this year is no exception. Since most people in my life love to travel, I decided to theme all my gifts around fun items that would help them the next time they go on an adventure. Here are my top 15 gift ideas for the travel lovers in your life!

1. Travel Journal

One thing I always regret after taking a cool trip is not recording what I do or see during it! I definitely don’t have the best memory, and looking back I wish I had more details about where I went and what I saw. Having a cute travel journal to log all of your adventures would be so handy and fun to look back on! If you’re buying for someone who isn’t an avid writer, try this one from Etsy – it has a lot of prompts that are simple to fill in. Alternatively, try out a blank journal like this one from Amazon.

2. Travel Duffle Bag

duffle bags

I have always wanted a cute but practical duffle bag for a weekend getaway or even to use as a carry-on. I usually have an old, boring gym bag or sports bag that I stuff my clothes in and it does not look good. Get your loved one a bag that will look cool to carry but will still fit all of their necessities! I love this one from Amazon or this striped one that fits in an overhead bin.

3. Cable Organizers

I’m a techy gal and I love to bring my gadgets and electronics with me on a trip. The problem? Everything nowadays has its own charger, leaving me with a jumbled mess of cords in my bag! A cable organizer would make a great gift for those that are not the most organized (like me!). I love this one that has a spot for memory cards too, or this smaller one with a hard shell.

4. Passport Holder

Passport holder travel gift

I am constantly panicking about losing my passport at the airport. No matter where I put it in my bag, I always have to dig around to find it when I need it. Having a passport holder that would keep it secure while also making it easier to find would definitely make life easier! For my Canadian readers, check this one out– the cover looks like a Canadian passport! Alternatively, take a look at this cute one from Amazon or this personalized version from Etsy.

5. Packing Cubes

Packing cubes

I will never NOT use packing cubes ever again. They are a life saver! I am a very unorganized gal at heart, but these cubes make packing and unpacking a breeze. There are a TON of options out there, but I personally like these bigger ones from Etsy. I also recently used these cubes from Amazon on my vacation.

6. Digital Camera

digital cameras travel gift

If you’ve got a bigger budget this holiday season or you’re buying for someone special, why not get them a camera? Sometimes relying on the storage in your iPhone isn’t practical, so a small digital camera would be a great gift to help your loved ones record their memories! I’m a big Canon fan myself, so I’d recommend the Powershot G7X Mark II for great quality in a compact body. Alternatively, there are some smaller Sony cameras on the market but they’re pretty high up in terms of budget.

7. Disposable Camera

If you want to give the gift of memories but don’t have a huge budget, get a disposable camera! They’ve really made a comeback in the last few years so they’re fairly easy to get anywhere. Check out this $20 one from Fujifilm or buy a pack from Kodak!

8. Scratch-Off Map

scratch off map travel gift

My mom bought me a scratch-off world map a few years ago and I love it. It’s a great visual of all the places I’ve been to so far, and how many more I need to explore! Plus its just fun to scratch off a new place, making it the perfect travel gift. These maps are everywhere now, but here’s one that’s similar to what I have!

9. GoPro

GoPro

This might be another bigger-budget gift, but if you’re buying for someone who is an aspiring videographer or someone who goes on wild adventures, a GoPro would be perfect! There are a variety of different types at different price points, so check out the GoPro website for more details!

10. Foot Hammock

Okay, this one is a little out there, but with the lack of space on airplanes nowadays why not be as comfy as possible? A foot hammock simply hooks onto the seat in front of you and can help to reduce swelling! Here is one from Amazon that is easy to fold and comes in a simple case.

11. Jewellery Organizer

I love my accessories. But because I’m always so afraid of losing them, I never bring them on my trips! I would love a cute bag that keeps everything safe and organized in one place. There are many varieties out there, but I personally like this customizable one from Etsy!

12. Travel Speaker

speaker travel gift

Easily one of the most useful travel gifts you could get someone is a portable speaker. I take one on every trip I go on and its useful everywhere- by the pool, on the beach, in your room… Get one that’s small and easy to pack, and bonus points if its waterproof! Check out this cute little one from Sony. If you need a good tropical playlist I have a list of my top 80 vacation songs that make you want to party!

13. Luggage Tag Set

luggage tags

One thing I realized on my most recent trip was that none of my friends had tags on their suitcases! It’s such a simple but useful gift- it makes it so much easier to find your bag at the airport! There are a ton of options out there but my favourites are this one from Amazon or this one from Shein.

14. Sunglasses Organizer

As I said earlier, I’m a big accessories girl. I love bringing multiple sunglasses (although for some reason I always end up only using one pair) but I get so frustrated having multiple cases in my bag! Or worse yet- no case at all which ends in broken sunglasses. A great gift idea is this cool sunglasses organizer from Amazon. Cute, compact and holds multiple different glasses!

15. Makeup Brush Holder

makeup brush holder travel gift

One thing I really wish I had on my last trip was a separate holder for my makeup brushes. I recently purchased a cute new makeup bag, but even with the brush holders that came with it there wasn’t enough room and the exposed bristles made my bag dirty. This makeup brush holder would have been the perfect solution.
