Fashion Trends to Try This Spring!
I’m currently on a journey to up my style game, and I’ve been looking at some fashion trends to try out. Sometimes, cold Canadian winters make it hard to try out new outfits- but with spring on the way it’s time to ditch the heavy coats and experiment with some new pieces!
Spring is all about layering, especially if you live in a place like me where the weather is freezing one minute and boiling the next. It’s so unpredictable! These fashion trends are easy to incorporate into your usual wardrobe while still dressing for whatever weather you’re dealing with.
Burgundy Leather Jackets
Leather jackets have always been a wardrobe staple, but these burgundy jackets make more of a statement! Choose from a variety of styles like a bomber jacket or a blazer, and pair with a solid colour underneath like black or white. I love the look of a black top and skirt with knee-high black boots paired with the burgundy jacket- it really makes it pop!
Where to Buy:
✻ Princess Polly- Goldsmith Faux Leather Bomber Jacket Burgundy
✻ Cider- Faux Leather Zipper Jacket
✻ Fashion Nova- Hailey Faux Leather Jacket Burgundy
A-Line Maxi Skirts
An A line maxi skirt is such a great transitional piece for the spring. It’s so easy to dress up or down, and you can still feel light and airy while covering up when that cooler blast of wind hits. Pair with a thick sweater and some boots on the cooler days or a cropped tee and a cute bag on the warmer days!
Where to Buy:
Lace Pants
I love this fashion trend for spring. A little risque without revealing too much, these pants are perfect for a night out! Most come with built-in black panties/shorts, but if not put a pair on to keep this look PG. Pair with a long blazer or an oversized t-shirt to dress down the look, and put on some heels to complete the look.
Where to Buy:
✻ PrettyLittleThing- Black Woven Sheer Lace Flared Pants
Kitten Heels
I’m not a huge fan of tall heels so I’m soooo happy that kitten heels are everywhere right now! These shoes make your outfit look effortlessly chic, giving a classic feeling to any look. Pair with a little black dress or a skirt with a leather jacket!
Where to Buy:
✻ Zara- Leather Heels with Strap
✻ Sam Edelman- Tracie Slingback Heel
Adidas Shoes
Adidas Sambas are the it sneaker right now. I mean, they have been for a little while now but I’m still seeing them in all the spring inspiration posts so it looks like we’re bringing them into Spring 2024! This fashion trend is a great way to transition from winter into spring, and can make any outfit look a little more casual.
Where to Buy:
Wide Leg Jeans
Gone are the skinny jean days- instead, try out a baggier, wide-leg style! While the super baggy jeans seem to be on their way out, a more tailored wide-leg fit is is still going strong. Look for a pair that fit snugly at your waist and gradually get bigger as you move down the leg. Put on some cool combat boots or sneakers if you’re going fully casual, or dress them up with a pair of kitten heels from above!
Where to Buy:
✻ Dynamite- Chloe Ultra Wide Leg Jeans
✻ Fashion Nova- Bridge the Distance Wide Leg Jeans
✻ Old Navy- Extra High-Waisted Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans
Thin Belts
Skinny belts are the perfect fashion trend to add to your wardrobe this spring! They add a classy feel to any outfit and are great for accessorizing. I love a black belt with gold hardware on an all-black outfit to give it just a slight pop of colour. These belts are also great for business-casual looks- sometimes it’s hard to make slacks and a blouse look fashionable but the right accessories (like these belts) will do the trick!
Where to Buy:
✻ Amazon- Women’s Skinny Leather Belt
Asymmetrical Neck Lines
The asymmetrical look has been a very popular fashion trend last few months. A fun neckline is such an easy way to spice up a simple shirt without going overboard. These asymmetrical necklines are a great way to catch the eye and give a bit of oomf while still keeping it classy. And the best part is they go with everything!
Where to Buy:
✻ Zara- Textured Asymmetric Top
✻ Cider- Asymmetrical Neck Solid Long Sleeve Tee
Red Accessories
Red accessories were a hot fashion trend in the fall, and they’re making their way into spring as well. They’re a great and simple way to add a pop of colour to your outfit! Accessory trends are so much easier to incorporate into your wardrobe since they’re (usually) a lot cheaper than some other fashion trends. Add a cute red hairbow, a red leather purse or some red boots to your outfit while keeping to more neutral colours for the rest of your clothes.
