Hey fellow fall lovers! As someone who lives for the cozy vibes, cool air and endless sweet, pumpkiny treats, fall is by far my favourite season. There’s something about this time of year that fills me with a sense of joy, and I just can’t get enough of it. And I can’t get enough of all the fun fall activities there are- the possibilities are endless!

If you’re like me, fall tends to fly by and I barely get through a quarter of my favourite fall activities. That’s why I’ve put together the ultimate fall bucket list with 50 different fun things to do! Whether you’re looking to soak up the last bit of warm(ish) weather before the snow hits or if you’re itching to try out a new fall recipe, there’s something for everyone on this list! 1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Nothing screams fall like a trip to your local pumpkin patch! You can wander through the fields, pick your perfect pumpkin, and take all the Instagram photos your heart desires! Make sure you go early enough in the season to grab a good pumpkin!

2. Go Apple Picking

A personal favourite, apple picking is a must-do fall activity. Find an orchard near you and load up on some fresh apples. There are a lot of farms that are a combination of apple and pumpkin patches, so you can knock two things off this list in one go! Bonus: you’ll have a ton of apples to bake pies, crisps, or make your own fun fall cocktail!

3. Have a Bonfire with Friends

Fall is the perfect time for a bonfire with friends. Roast some marshmallows, cozy up against the chilly weather, and share spooky ghost stories! One of the best fall activities!

4. Host a Halloween Movie Marathon

Fall and Halloween go hand-in-hand, so it’s time to host a spooky movie marathon! Line up some classics like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, and Halloween. Or, if you’re feeling up to something scarier, pop on some classic horrors like The Shining, The Exorcist, or The Conjuring! Pop some popcorn and sip on some warm apple cider for the perfect cozy night in!

5. Make Your Own Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Skip the Starbucks line and make your own PSL at home! It’s way easier than you would think, plus you have the ability to adjust the sweetness and spice to exactly how you like! Plus, it will make your house smell like the inside of a Bath and Bodyworks candle!

6. Visit a Haunted House

Get that adrenaline pumping by visiting a haunted house! Check out a local attraction or visit a historical site known for its hauntings and investigate the paranormal for yourself. It’s the perfect way to embrace the spooky season!

7. Take a Scenic Drive to See Fall Foliage

Fall foliage is one of my favourite parts of the season, and here in Canada we have some pretty breathtaking places to see (check out my top 10 here!). Take a scenic drive through the countryside to enjoy all the wild, vibrant colours. Snap some Instagram pictures and enjoy nature!

8. Bake Fall Treats

I love baking during the fall season. Whip up a loaf of pumpkin bread, some apple crisp (with those fresh apples you picked!) or anything that fills your home with the wonderful smell of cinnamon and nutmeg. Trust me, your house will smell like heaven.

9. Attend a Fall Festival or Fair

Do a quick search for local fall festivals or county fairs in your area. They often have seasonal foods, games and live music, making it a fun way to get out of the house on a fall weekend!

10. Go on a Hayride

Hayrides are a fun, different way to take in the fall scenery! You can find them at a pumpkin patch or apple orchard, or at a local farm. A relaxing way to enjoy the season!

Get creative with those pumpkins this year! Whether you prefer the traditional method of carving your pumpkins or you want to try your hand at painting to avoid the gooey mess, it’s a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit! Step up your insta game this season with the beautiful colours of fall! Grab a few friends, head to the park or a local trail, and capture the magic of the season. Think cozy scarves, boots, and those beautiful falling leaves.

Challenge yourself (and your sense of direction) by navigating through a corn maze! It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon, and it’s even better when you go with a group of friends!

14. Try a New Fall Recipe

If you’re more of a cooker than a baker, fall is the perfect season to try out a new, comforting food! Try a new recipe like butternut squash soup, beef stew, or a hearty casserole. You’ll love experimenting with all the seasonal flavours!

One of the more obvious fall activities is to decorate for fall! As soon as I get a hint of a fall breeze, I start breaking out the fall decor. I love to transform my space into a cozy fall haven! Add some seasonal touches like pumpkin-scented candles, warm blankets, and fall wreaths for that perfect autumn ambiance.

Many wineries and breweries release special seasonal flavours in the fall, like pumpkin ale or spiced cider. Take a day trip to sample some new drinks and enjoy the crisp fall air!

Fall is the perfect time to get outdoors. The weather is cooler, and the scenery is gorgeous. Take a leisurely nature walk or a more challenging hike to soak up all the autumn beauty.

I recently fell down a Tiktok rabbit hole and discovered candle-making, and it’s surprisingly easy! You can customize your scents with pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla, or whatever you love most. If you’re feeling adventurous, try pouring your wax into fun moulds to create different shapes!

22. Enjoy a Picnic in the Park with Fall-Themed Snacks

This is a fun fall activity to do while the weather is still nice! Pack up a cozy blanket and some fall-themed snacks like spiced nuts, apple slices with caramel, and pumpkin muffins, then head to the park. The crisp air and the golden leaves will make for a perfect afternoon!

Knitting is NOT a grandma hobby and I will stand by that! There’s no better cozy activity than curling up on the couch with some knitting needles and yarn to make a warm scarf (or hat, or blanket… depends on how adventurous you’re feeling!) I LOVE Oktoberfest. To me, it’s one of the best fall activities you can participate in! It is the ultimate fall party with lots of beer, bratwurst, and live music at a local festival. I feel like potpourri gets a bad rap for being an old lady thing- it totally isn’t! Gather your friends and host a DIY potpourri-making party! Provide a mix of dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, pinecones, and dried flowers like lavender or rose petals. Let everyone create their own custom fall-scented potpourri blend to take home and freshen up their space!
